You bought a kit and don't want to climb the roof
The dish ships in a box. Getting it onto a steep roof, through the siding and to the right spot inside is the part most people would rather hand off.
Clean mounts. Hidden cables. Whole-home coverage.
You bought the kit. We handle the roof, the cable run and the WiFi. Abvolt Automation is an electrical and low-voltage contractor in Lake Bluff, installing Starlink across Lake County and the North Shore with the same care we put into panels and structured cabling.
Who it's for
Most of our Starlink jobs come from one of these five situations.
The dish ships in a box. Getting it onto a steep roof, through the siding and to the right spot inside is the part most people would rather hand off.
The included router covers one floor well. Older North Shore homes with plaster walls, additions and coach houses need more than one access point to cover the rest.
Keep Comcast or AT&T as your main line and add Starlink as automatic failover, so a cut cable doesn't take down work, cameras or alarms.
A hardwired connection to your desk for steady video calls and uploads, no matter what the rest of the house is streaming.
Temporary or permanent internet for offices, construction trailers and sites where cable or fiber isn't in yet.
What's included
Every install covers the dish, the cable path and the network inside the house.
We check the sky view for trees and rooflines before picking a location, so the dish isn't fighting for signal the day it goes up.
A Starlink roof mount installation, eave, wall or pole mount chosen for your roof type and sight line. Every penetration is flashed and sealed.
Cable enters through a sealed wall plate with a drip loop, then runs through the attic, basement or conduit, not across the siding.
We add the ethernet adapter and run Cat6 to offices, TVs and consoles that shouldn't depend on WiFi.
Mesh nodes or wired access points placed by survey, so coverage reaches the basement, the top floor and the patio.
Starlink and your existing internet connected to a dual-WAN router that switches over on its own when one line drops.
Speed and coverage tested room by room, then a walkthrough of the app, the hardware and what to do if something stops working.
Why Abvolt
A basic install puts the dish up and plugs in the router. That's where most problems start: cable stapled across the siding, an unsealed hole in the roof, and WiFi that still doesn't reach the back bedroom.
An electrical backgroundWe're an electrical and low-voltage contractor, so power, grounding and cable routing are done the way an inspector would expect.
Clean, code-conscious workmanshipSealed penetrations, proper drip loops, conduit where cable is exposed, and nothing left loose on the roof.
We handle the network inside the houseThe WiFi, the wiring and the failover are part of the job, not just the dish.
InsuredYour roof and your home are covered while we work.

Our process
Tell us about your home, your kit and how you'll use it. We quote the project, usually after a few photos or a short call.
We check obstructions, pick the mount location and plan the cable path and WiFi layout before anything is drilled.
Mount, cabling, ethernet, WiFi and failover installed and set up, in one visit for most homes.
We test every room with you, show you the app, and stay a phone call away after the job.
Service area
Looking for a Starlink installer near you? We're based in Lake Bluff and install throughout Lake County, IL, the North Shore suburbs and Chicago.
Don't see your town? See all service areas or call us. If we can do the job well, we will.
Every home is quoted per project after a quick survey. The price depends on the mount type, your roof, how far the cable has to travel and how much WiFi coverage you need. Send a few photos or book a visit and we'll give you a fixed quote before any work starts.
Most customers order the Starlink kit and service plan directly from Starlink, then schedule us to install it. If you haven't ordered yet, call us first. We can tell you which mount and accessories your home will need so you only buy once.
Often, yes. Depending on the house, we can use a wall, eave or pole mount, or a non-penetrating ballast mount on a flat roof. We'll show you the options during the site survey.
Yes. We connect Starlink and your existing internet to a router that supports automatic failover. If the cable or fiber line goes down, the house switches to Starlink on its own and switches back when service returns.
The included router works well in a smaller home. In larger homes we add mesh nodes or wired access points so you get full coverage on every floor, including basements and outdoor areas.
Yes. With the Starlink ethernet adapter we can run Cat6 to a home office, TVs, gaming consoles or a network rack, and tie into existing structured wiring if your home has it.
Most residential installs are finished in one day. Pole mounts, larger homes and jobs with extra wiring or access points can take longer. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote.
Yes. We install Starlink for offices, retail spaces, construction trailers and job sites, including automatic failover for businesses that can't afford to go offline.
